I'll have three-numbered review for this story.
1. Problematic at first— it pushes the limit of dignitized characters from being raped to being sold. However, there's redeemable qualities in the stories such as recognizing their wrongful actions.
2. Will I recommend it? Yes, only to those who understands the great deal of pain. I already commented in one of the chapters that I would rather k/i/ll myself than endure all this because what the mc-bot endured is not something an average human can endure. So I won't recommend it to the people who have anxieties & are feeling/diagnosed with depression.
3. This is not a slice of life nor shounen ai. It's more than that. Good thing that it's a work of fiction but my sympathies over the people who have suffered during the Imperial Korea, may it be from the imperial family or the soldiers. This somehow embodies what it's like to live during the Korean Dynastic Cycle.
+ points for tackling & showing people with leprosy. We commonly hear them from Bible stories, now we can see them in Korean culture.
You have been given the opportunity to re-evaluate before reading the series. I'll rate this 7.6/10. The rest is for you to find out.
